And so I think the first thing I would say in leading change in an organization is get as factual as possible. You can observe it and learn, you can teach and learn, you can get feedback and learn. A young boy enters a store and, in keeping with the times, asks the store owner if he can work for him that day. Thats a skill. Lets go make powerful, positive change because everyone deserves to be led well. Yeah. The problem and then figure out a way to unify everybody to the same problem. And in that human element, now Im going to go to people that are going to be most impacted and Im going to have meetings before the meetings. I was embarrassed. Then with as much creativity that I could muster in a one-on-one, one to myself environment, I began working through how do I creatively go after these five areas? I borrowed Sharon Burchums template to create my first growth plan. But you also being a person of faith, have a choice that you make of what youre going to study this year from a growth standpoint. In other words, sit down and say, Okay, where am I going to grow specifically?. Theres some discouragement there, certain things, right? Hey, Im so excited to have you, Becky. So anticipate the outcomes, and then fourth is communicate the change from a contextual standpoint. Its by Gary Keller, which is one of the founders of Keller Williams. Gary Keller wrote a book called The One Thing, and he talks about how that leaders need to synthesize down to that one thing they need to be focused on. The reason you start with yourself is because you cannot give what you do not have, so you better start with yourself. Youre going to hear about this in upcoming podcasts. Im in a show and tell mode, were going back to elementary school, but thats all right. Now for you, that growth looked like many different things, mentors, books.
